Bike, Hike, and Paddle

From January of 1996 to October of 2008, this site was called "Chuck's Backpacking Bonanza" and was hosted on AOL until they ceased such hosting. Over the years, I expanded the site to include much more than only backpacking, so the name is now Bike, Hike, and Paddle. Enjoy my efforts!

Biking Grand Island, Nebraska's Riverway Trail

Starting at the George Clayton Hall County Park, The Riverway Trail is a straight and flat 4-mile trail, traveling east towards the Platte River. Aside from crossing four intersections, the path is uninterrupted. You can also park near the trail head at the Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer or across the street at the community college.

This trail provided a lovely ride for a quick break from driving as I passed through town heading to Colorado...

Several parks are along the route...

...as well as this lovely seen along the trail.

I parked at the community college across the street from museum so I could better investigate this artwork entitled "Imagination Takes Flight." Each book is a classic tome, and as a retired English teacher I really liked the piece!
